The goal of the Green Deal scheme is to have 14 million UK households upgraded for energy efficiency making the UK European leaders in reducing greenhouse emissions and supporting up to 250,000 new jobs within the green industry.

2. Energy Performance Certificates
Energy Performance Certificates are now legally required for all residential properties that are put onto the market for sale and to let. An EPC can also be conducted in tandem with a renewable energy audit (as both use the same methodology) to help further identify areas of improvement to a property.
Only qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) can conduct these surveys. The franchise training programme incorporates the Level 3 Diploma in Domestic Energy Assessment.
3. Inventories / Conditions of Schedule
Since the introduction of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) in April 2007, it is essential that landlords in addition to an EPC also have an accurate and up-to-date inventory for all let properties. In the event of a dispute, the inventory provides evidence to support the Landlord’s or Tenant’s case, making disputes quicker and easier to resolve.
